Bar Method

The Bar Method is a fitness program founded in 2002 by Burr Leonard and her husband, Carl Diehl. She was a student of the Lotte Berk Method wherein she teamed with and opened her first exercise studio in 1991 in Greenwich, Connecticut. It uses your own body weight to lose weight and increase strength. Aside from your own body weight, it also makes use of other strengthening equipment such as free weights, exercise balls, and mats. The workout routine lasts between 45 minutes and 65 minutes.
It is called the Bar Method because it uses a fixed bar to perform exercise routines that target the areas of the body that needs improvement. It opened its flagship studio in San Francisco. As the company grows bigger, it opened more fitness studios in other parts of The United States and Canada. It has expanded its services with exercise DVDs, media subsidiaries, and franchising. It also caught the interest of many people such as famous celebrities like:
Drew Barrymore
Tori Spelling
Denise Richards, Zooey Deschanel
Julia Louis-Dreyfus
The Bar Method was founded by Burr Leonard in 2001. It began franchising seven years after (2008). Since then, the Bar Method fitness center has spread so quickly across the country.
